Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her get her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Following this she was hired by she was hired by the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009 she moved from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Also, she was a substitute for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She produced pieces about the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor herself. Then, she became the sports host for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. In the same capacity she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born there on November 22, 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. After a while the family split up, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died from kidney cancer in 2006. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, the young Collins was able to take a job along with her sister. Antonietta had just graduated high school but already knew her plans for what she would do. The result was that she liked the campus, and the university offered the major she wanted. Following her graduation from high school, she decided to attend the University to pursue a degree with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a member. They developed a close friendship. He was the one who boosted her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for Journalism deeply touched her. In turn, she was determined to exceed his expectations always delivering on time.
